We seek to formalize membership in the forthcoming conference and we would encourage as many delegates who would like to join the membership of the Association to attend the business meeting.We will also elect members to position. The Association shall have the following membership categories: 1.1.1 Student 1.1.2 Professional 1.1.3 Honorary members 1.1.4 Corporate organisations, NGOs and other credible interested organisations 1.1.5 Any person who has been a member for a year shall be eligible for election into office. 1.1.6 Membership fees will be fixed by the congress. No member is liable for any of the Associations obligations and liabilities by virtue of his/her status as members or office bearers of the association. 1.1.7 No member is entitled to claim the asset of the association should the association fold up. Such Asset shall be transferred to The Rhetoric Centre first of all or any other rhetoric organisation. 1.2 Because of the specialist nature of this Association, membership is only open to persons who are interested in rhetoric, either as an academic specialty or vocational practice. 1.3 A Member of the Association is expected to attend the Biennial conference, and pay membership fees as at when due to be eligible for the Association’s newsletters and a copy of the journal. 1.4 Membership is purely on voluntary basis and any person may cease to be a member of the Association any time s/he deems fit. 1.5 The Association reserves rights to membership. |
